Why am I here?
It’s that time of the year again! The Gung Buk Young Writer’s Competition is being held once again in July.
Only sixteen entries are allowed from the 5th Grade at Young Hoon Elementary. You have been chosen by your teachers as one of sixteen learners who will represent Young Hoon Elementary School.
As you may know, this competition is very important to the Young Hoon community. Our learners have won first prize three years in a row.
Why do I want to enter this competition?
The prizes for the winning authors include:
- An ipod touch
- Nintendo Wii
- An annual Family Pass to Everland
- Movie vouchers
- Winning writing compositions will be posted in the Kids Times newspaper.
The prizes for the winning school include:
- An iMac computer
- Book vouchers from Sogung Books
What do I have to write about?
Last year’s genre was persuasive writing and the topic was ‘Save the environment’. This year the genre is personal narratives and the topic is ‘A meaningful time in my life’.
How long do I have to write this?
You only have four weeks to prepare your composition for the competition. It is due on July 10th.
Will I get help writing my composition?
Of course! Your goal is to write the best composition you can. Wiggly Pencils will guide you towards achieving this goal.
Over the next four weeks, you will work in a team with other 5th Grade learners on Wiggly Pencils. During this time you will learn writing techniques that will help you make your writing compositions more interesting and meaningful for your audience.
